The PG Department of History is one of the oldest departments at Kalahandi University, Bhawanipatna. department with a rich museum, archives, palm leaves,  Western Odisha Prehistoric tools Gallery, archaeological facilities, and with the dedication of teachers, scholars, and students, it has taken the form of a major teaching and research center in history. Many vital explorations and publications have brought to light previously unknown facets of the history and culture of this region.
