Department of Commerce, Kalahandi University is one of the preferred institutions of academic excellence for the students of commerce and business education in Odisha. This department is putting continuous efforts in expanding its horizons in new dimensions of knowledge and innovations in the fields of Commerce, Accounting, Finance, Marketing, Economics, World Economies, Human Resource Development, International Business, Information And Communication Technology, Securities Market, Derivatives, Financial Market, Institutions& Services, Industrial Relations, Labour codes, Companies Act, Business Laws, Taxation And Many Others. The department is at its infant stage, at present we may be an institution of local preference, but we carry the vision and commitment to be an institution of global choice in the years to come.

This department runs one of the best contemporary syllabi and teaching for UG (B.com. Hons) and PG (M.com) students as per the national standard. The department imparts education to 384 students in graduation (128 in each year of B.com Core) and 64 students in PG (32 each year) at present. The department also offers BBA (128 Seats), BCA (64 Seats) and Doctoral Degree program to students.
